Privacy Policy

Operated by LIGI L.L.C. (Wisconsin, USA) · Questions: support@ligi.app
At a glance
- ligi is a workout-tracking app made by LIGI L.L.C. This policy covers the ligi apps for iOS and Android, the web app at ligi.app, and this website.
- We collect what you give us to run your account and log your training: your name, email, profile, onboarding answers, workouts, and any photos you upload. We also collect crash and usage data to keep the app working.
- We do not sell your personal data, we do not show ads, and the apps contain no third-party advertising SDKs.
- Your data is stored with Google (Firebase and Google Cloud) in the United States.
- You can delete your account and its data at any time from the app's Settings, or by emailing us. See Delete your account.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
ligi is operated by LIGI L.L.C., a limited liability company organized in the State of Wisconsin, United States (“ligi”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It applies to:
- the ligi app for iOS (App Store) and the ligi app for Android (Google Play);
- the ligi web app and account pages at ligi.app;
- this marketing website (ligi.app and www.ligi.app).
By creating an account or using ligi you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use ligi.
2. Information we collect
We only collect data that is needed to provide ligi. Here is everything, by category.
2.1 Account information
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a user ID that identifies your account. You can sign in with Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or (on Android and the web) an email address and password. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google). When you use Apple or Google to sign in, we receive the name and email those providers share with us; we never see your Apple or Google password. If you sign in with email and password, the password is stored only by Firebase Authentication in hashed form.
2.2 Profile
Your profile consists of a first name, an @username, an optional bio, and an optional profile photo. On iOS you can also optionally record your gender in Settings → Personal Info; it is used for personalization only and is never shown to other users.
2.3 Onboarding answers
During setup we ask about your fitness goal, experience level, weekly training frequency, available equipment, and training focus. We use these answers to recommend a workout plan and to personalize the app. We do not ask for your age or date of birth during setup.
2.4 Workout data
This is the core of ligi: the workout plans you create or follow, your sessions, the exercises in them, the sets, reps, and weights you log, session dates and durations, and the personal records derived from them.
2.5 Photos you upload
You may choose to upload a profile picture, a banner image for a workout plan you create, or screenshots attached to a feedback or bug report. We receive only the images you pick; the apps do not access your camera or your photo library beyond the system picker you use to choose an image.
2.6 Social features
ligi has a social layer. We store who you follow and who follows you, the search queries you type when looking for other users, and an invite link you can share from the app using your device's share sheet. Your name, @username, bio, profile photo, and training activity (for example personal records and leaderboard standing) can be seen by other ligi users. ligi does not access your device contacts.
2.7 Device, usage, and diagnostic data
- Firebase Analytics records how you interact with the app (screens viewed, features used) together with device identifiers the SDK collects, such as the Firebase installation ID and, on Android, the Advertising ID. Your ligi user ID is attached so we can understand usage per account. We use this only to understand and improve the product — not for advertising.
- Firebase Crashlytics collects crash logs and related diagnostics (device model, operating-system version, app version, and the state of the app when it crashed), attached to your user ID, so we can find and fix bugs.
- Firebase Remote Config fetches feature-flag settings for your app installation using the Firebase installation ID.
- Help & feedback. When you send feedback or a bug report from the app we include the app version and build, operating-system version, device model, language (locale), and time zone, plus anything you choose to add: a message, an optional contact email, a screenshot, and — if you opt to attach them — recent app logs.
- Push notifications (iOS). If you allow notifications on iOS, we store a device push token so we can deliver them. The Android app does not send push notifications at this time.
2.8 Health data
iOS: if you choose to connect Apple Health, ligi writes your completed strength workouts to Apple Health so they appear alongside your other activity. ligi does not read any data from Apple Health, and nothing from Apple Health is uploaded to our servers. You can revoke this at any time in the iOS Health app or Settings.
Android: the Android app does not connect to Health Connect or any other health platform. It does not read or write health data.
2.9 Subscriptions and payments
On iOS, optional paid features (ligi Premium, including Squads) are billed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, so we receive your subscription status and an anonymized subscriber ID — never your card number or billing address. The Android app has no in-app purchases at this time.
2.10 This website
This marketing website uses Google Analytics to understand traffic and — when we are running advertising campaigns — the Meta Pixel to measure ad performance and reach people who have visited. These set cookies and are used only to measure and improve our own campaigns; we never sell your data. Interactive demos on the site keep their data in your browser's local storage; that data stays on your device unless you sign in.
2.11 What we do not collect
ligi does not collect your precise or approximate location, contacts, calendar, SMS or call logs, microphone audio, browsing history, or payment card details. We do not ask for your date of birth. We do not use any third-party advertising or data-broker SDKs in the apps.
3. How we use information
- To provide ligi — create and secure your account, log and display your workouts, and sync your data across your devices and the web app.
- To personalize — recommend a plan from your onboarding answers and tailor what the app shows you.
- To power social features — show your profile to other users, maintain your follow list, rank leaderboards, and deliver invites.
- To send notifications (iOS) that you have enabled.
- To keep the app working — diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and understand which features are used.
- To respond to you — answer feedback, bug reports, and support requests.
- To protect ligi and its users — prevent abuse and enforce our Terms.
- To comply with law.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not show ads in the apps.
5. Your choices and rights
- Access and correct your profile and workout data directly in the app (Profile → Edit profile; Settings).
- Leaderboard visibility (iOS) — Settings → Privacy lets you choose whether everyone, only your followers, or no one can see you on leaderboards.
- Photos — replace or remove your profile picture and plan banners in the app.
- Notifications (iOS) — turn them off in Settings → Notifications or in iOS Settings.
- Apple Health (iOS) — revoke ligi's write access at any time in the Health app.
- Delete your account — see section 6.
- Marketing email — we do not send marketing emails. The only emails you will receive are account-related (for example a password-reset email sent by Firebase Authentication if you use email sign-in), or replies to messages you send us.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email support@ligi.app from the email address on your account. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete it and the personal data associated with it — your profile, workout history, photos, social connections, and diagnostic data tied to your user ID — from our production systems, and remove any remaining copies from backups and logs within 30 days. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. One exception: a workout plan you created and that other users have already saved stays available to them, with your name, profile, and any link back to you removed.
How to delete your account
- Android: Profile tab → Settings (gear icon) → Delete Account → confirm Delete.
- iOS: Profile tab → Settings (gear icon) → Delete Account → confirm Delete.
- By email: write to support@ligi.app from the email address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”.
Step-by-step instructions: ligi.app/delete-account.
Signing out is not the same as deleting. Logging out only removes your session from that device; your account and data remain on our servers until you delete the account.
Crash reports, analytics events, and feedback submissions are retained for limited periods needed for diagnosis and product improvement, and are deleted or anonymized after that.
7. Security
All traffic between the apps, this website, and our servers is encrypted in transit with TLS. Data at rest in Firebase, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Storage is encrypted with Google-managed encryption keys. Access to production data is restricted to the people who need it to operate ligi. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data using industry-standard measures.
8. International data transfers
LIGI L.L.C. is based in the United States and our service providers store and process data in the United States. If you use ligi from outside the United States, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using ligi you consent to this transfer.
9. Children
ligi is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email support@ligi.app and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as ligi changes. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your personal data, we will also notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
